Get Noticed
at Your Next Tradeshow
You go to tradeshows to be seen, so make sure you’re
making the most of your opportunity! I’ve been to many tradeshows
over the years and frequently encounter exhibitors who seem to get
lost in the background, rather than shine. Then they wonder why
the show wasn’t as big a success as they’d hoped. Don’t
let it happen to you!
Here are a few of the things you can do to attract
positive attention the next time you invest in attending a tradeshow:
1. Stand Out in the Crowd
Take the time to plan and design a professional looking booth backdrop
and area that accurately reflects your company’s brand. Having
a tradeshow booth is the equivalent of having a retail space on
a busy main street. Ensure that it looks attractive and showcases
your company in the best possible light.
2. Make Your Booth Approachable
If attendees don’t enter your booth, you won’t have
an opportunity to educate or sell to them. THE biggest deterrent
to people entering your booth is the attitude and approachability
of booth staff. Make sure to fill your booth with friendly, engaging
and knowledgeable people. Offering creative give-aways never hurt
either!
3. Promote Before You Show Up
Sending invitations to clients, suppliers and prospects to visit
your booth is a great way to enhance existing business relationships
and develop new ones. Whether you email a PDF or mail a printed
card, make sure it is attractive, compelling and reflects your corporate
brand.
4. Offer Take-Away Information
You may only have a moment to make a good first impression. Whether
it’s a brochure or pamphlet, or a special promotion just for
the show, make sure the materials your staff hand out are quality
pieces that your guests will take home with them. Grainy photocopies
of grainy photocopies do not reflect well on your company!
5. Post-Show Follow Up
Want to know who came to your booth? Offer a show special or additional,
valuable information that is only available via your Web site. By
creating a special entry page on your Web site with a special address
shown only on your tradeshow materials, you can measure the response
rate of attendees to your show special.
Tradeshows are a great opportunity to enhance
your company’s profile. Make sure YOU make a great impression.
